CRONICA VIVA: DIARIO DIGITAL DE LA REALIDAD PERUANA  (http://www.cronicaviva.com.pe/)
This electronic newspaper is published by the Peruvian Association of Journalists and advertised as a weekly publication, although there is also a link to daily news. Like other Peruvian newspapers, Crónica Viva has its economic, political, regional and Latin American news sections but it also has interesting segments on humor, and city news. This is one of the few newspapers in Peru that publishes its electronic version in both English and Spanish.
 
EL COMERCIO, PERU  (http://www.elcomercioperu.com/Noticias/html/primerindex.html)
El Comercio is probably the newspaper with the highest circulation in Peru. According to Apoyo, it is also the most widely read. This is because most readers believe that El Comercio publishes unbiased information with a variey of topics. This electronic version does not have all the nuts and bolts of the paper version, but it is still one of the very best Internet newspapers in Peru.
 
EL HERALDO: CONGRESO DE LA REPUBLICA DEL PERU  (http://161.132.29.8/heraldo.htm)
The digital newspaper of the Peruvian Congress. A publication of news and information regarding parliamentary activities such as conferences, committee work, plenary sessions, etc. Visitors can suscribe to receive daily press notes (in Spanish). In English and Spanish.
 
EL PERUANO: DIARIO OFICIAL  (http://www.editoraperu.com.pe/)
El Peruano is the oldest newspaper in Peru. It was founded in 1825 by Simón Bolívar. This publication is different from other newspapers in that it is an official news vehicle of the Peruvian government. It is best known for publishing new laws, but it also contains articles on politics, current events, culture, economy, editorials, and entertainment. In Spanish.
 
EXPRESO  (http://www.expreso.com/hoy01/index.html)
Expreso is one of the leading newspapers in Lima, and its electronic edition is also one of the best. Its various sections feature a generous number of news abstracts with a link to its full reports. It also has other supplements such as El Navegante, a directory of mostly Peruvian Web sites. Finally it has a very useful (and almost hidden) news search. In Spanish.

This Web site contains links to all the news in Peru. Included are newspapers, magazines, and radio and television stations. Contains the latest headlines in news categories such as national, economy, politics, sports, etc. These headlines include the source of information (newspaper, radio, TV, etc.) with links to an article's full story. LA ENCUESTA: PRIMER DIARIO ELECTRONICO DEL PERU  (http://www.asesor.com.pe/laencuesta/)
The first electronic newspaper in Peru, La Encuesta is an excellent publication of weekly news summaries for quick reading. Their sources of news are from the main newspapers of Peru (La República, El Peruano, El Comercio, etc ...). It has received several awards for design quality, navigation, information, services, and technical ingenuity. In Spanish.
 
LA REPUBLICA  (http://www.larepublica.com.pe/)
The first major Peruvian newspaper to add an electronic version, La República is still a leading e-newspaper. It has a handy archive to find past editions going all the way back to May of 1996. Its major segments include politics, opinion, culture, local news, economy, police reports, and entertainment. The headlines are in the home page with links to full articles. In Spanish.

This is the newspaper of business and economics of Peru and Latin America. Includes news on business expansions, alliances, and investments as well as macro-economic events (industry news, legislation, government bids, etc ...). The section called "Perfiles" is all about specific VIP's in the country. Includes sections on the following topics: money, finance, economics, news, Wall Street, marketplace, financial weekly, and a macroeconomic report. In Spanish.

Daily news headlines with links to full articles. This site does an excellent job in selecting articles about Peru that have appeared in several international and North American newspapers. It also contains links to several Peruvian and international newspapers. In English.
 
OJO  (http://www.ojo.com.pe/)
Ojo is one of the oldest newspapers in Peru. Second only to El Comercio in terms of popularity (the second most widely read according to Apoyo). Its daily Internet edition includes the following segments: opinion, politics, current events, national and international news, sports, horoscope, and entertainment. Its headlines are include abstracts for quick reading, and a link to the complete article. Ojo is owned by Epensa. In Spanish.
 
PERU AL DIA  (http://perualdia.rcp.net.pe/)
An internet only daily newspaper from the Red Científica Peruana (RCP) or the Peruvian Scientific Network, an ISP pioneer in Peru. Their headlines come together with short summaries and links to their full articles. These articles actually come from many other newspapers from Peru and the rest of the world. Like other newspapers, its main sections are news about Peru, the world, sports, entertainment, culture, etc. In Spanish.

The daily newspaper of Piura, Peru with a variety of sections of interest: main, index, tourism, international commerce, adverstising, publicity, contacts, and more. In Spanish.
 
DIARIO DEL CUSCO  (http://www.diariodelcusco.com/)
This internet edition of the Cusco Newspaper publishes daily local, national and international news. It also includes an editorial edition which contains issues important for the residents of the capital of the Incas. In Spanish.
 
EL TIEMPO: DIARIO REGIONAL DEL NORTE  (http://www.eltiempo.com.pe/)
El tiempo is the regional newspaper of the North, but it is published in Piura. Includes sections on city, country, and international news, local and national sports, employment and money, tourist trade, social events, and opinions. You will also find a Piura City Home Page and a directory of Piuranos, that is, people from Piura (and also from Tunbes in this case). In Spanish.
 
LA INDUSTRIA DE CHIMBOTE  (http://www.laindustria.com/chimbote/)
A modest newspaper from the small city of Chimbote, Peru. La Industria, however, is a full daily newspaper with categories such as local and regional news, editorials, sports, economy, and an archive. The archive connects readers to past editions of La Industria de Chimbote. All of these sections contain news headlines with links to full news articles. In Spanish.
 
LA INDUSTRIA DE TRUJILLO, PERU  (http://www.laindustria.com/industria/)
A regional newspaper of Peru with more than 100 years publishing news in the north of Peru. La Industria de Trujillo has several sections such as: headlines, sports, etc ... and an archive which links readers to past editions of the newspaper. The daily newspaper of Chiclayo with local, national, and international headlines. Headlines include links to full stories with pictures. Los Andes is the newspaper of Puno, Peru's highlands. Like other Peruvian newspapers Los Andes publishes news from around the world. However its most important asset is local news since readers could hardly find news about the Puno region elsewhere. Other sections include: horoscope, interviews, and chats. In Spanish.

Radio CPN (Cadena Peruana de Noticias) offers both news and entertainment 24 hours a day. Its main page publishes daily headlines and it also contains links to other news sections such local, national, political, economic, business, cultural, and sports news. Also has Internet live broadcasting via Real Player. In Spanish.
 
COORDINADORA NACIONAL DE RADIO  (http://www.cnr.org.pe/)
This site includes Peruvian news in both text and audio as well as headlines, health and environment bulletins, interviews and comments. CNR is a Christian association of radio stations and other organizations that promote education and human development in Peruvian towns and villages. The main feature of this Web site is that the visitors are able to hear live transmissions of several radio stations. In Spanish.
 
RADIO AMERICA, FM 94.3  (http://www.radioamerica.com.pe/)
Radio América, also known as 94.3 FM in Lima, is number one in rock & roll and pop music (in both English and Spanish). Lately it has been receiving credit for helping to promote local rock & roll bands. See the section called "Cuerdas Vocales" for more information about all-Peruvian rock music. In the Internet it is one of the few radio stations from Peru with live transmission. This Web site has some information about its radio shows and news in Peru. Radio América is owned by Compañía Radiodifusora Peruana, S.A. In Spanish.

Simple in design, this web site contains links and articles about the radio in Peru (especially in rural communities). These articles were collected by Don Moore. This is an important Web site because radio is the chief means of mass communication in Peru. The country has hundreds of broadcast radio stations, some of which transmit in both Quechua and Spanish. RPP NOTICIAS  (http://www.rpp.com.pe/)
Radioprogramas del Perú (RPP) is a popular local radio station mostly known in the Internet for its very reliable live broadcasting 24 hours a day. However this Internet pioneer also publishes in its Web site headlines news with links to their complete articles. Some of their main news sections include: national and international news, politics, economics, culture, events and entertainment, and sports. In Spanish.

AMERICA TELEVISION: SOMOS PARTE DE TU VIDA  (http://www.americatv.com.pe/)
Better known in Lima simply as "Canal 4", América Televisión is the first TV channel in Peru. Its Web site contains mainly information about its TV shows and movies. In "América Noticias" one will find local and international news. Other sections included here are children's programs, soap operas, and a section called "What's New" or "Novedades". Also includes a live broadcasting using Windows Media. In Spanish.
 
CABLE MAGICO  (http://www.cablemagico.com.pe/)
The TV cable service provided by Telefónica. This Web site includes guides to TV programming, company news, movie announcements, special events, promotions and other services provided to their customers. In fact, many areas of this site are restricted to customers. In Spanish.
 
FRECUENCIA LATINA  (http://www.frecuencialatina.com.pe/)
Founded in 1982, Frecuencia Latina first went on the air in Lima as Channel 2. Today it covers an amazing 98% of the Peruvian territory including 86 cities. Its Web site has more details about its history and current management, but most importantly it also includes information about its TV programs. The home page also has some of the very latest headlines. Other services included are a message board, classifieds, and a live broadcasting channel which always seems to have a restricted schedule. Another problem is that the site always takes a while to download in the United States. In Spanish.
 
PANAMERICANA TELEVISION  (http://www.pantel.com.pe/index.php)
Pantel, short for Panamericana Televisión is one of the oldest and largest TV stations in Peru. Its Web site has information about its TV listings such as news, talk shows, soap operas, comedies, movies, and children's shows. Its special sports section deals mostly with soccer events, including the latest news about league tournaments, soccer players, postions table, etc. Panamericana's Web site also includes a statement about the company's goals and its role with Peruvian society.
