TOURISM

Cockpit Country Home Page  (http://www.cockpitcountry.com/home.html)
Cockpit Country is a rugged, inaccessible area of inland Jamaica. These very characteristics have given it special importance and it is proposed that it become a World Heritage Site. It is an island-within-an-island of specially-adapted biodiversity found nowhere else in the world and is a last refuge for some species driven from the rest of Jamaica by humans. The site advocates "low-investment 'extensive' tourism". It is operated by The Windsor Research Center and provides information about "Meet -the-Researchers" dinners.

Inns of Jamaica  (http://discoverjamaica.com/gleaner/inns/)
Inns of Jamaica Each is an original, different from the others: some sit high above a photographic paradise, others are close to the action. There's a place for the diver, the Caribbean food lover, the bird watcher, the art collector, the student on Spring Break ... as well as the visitor who wants to meet local residents (a special favourite) and share interests. Our small, special places are owned and staffed by people who care about making you feel welcomed. They know Jamaica, what's happening.
